Nine babies and a world record

A 25-year-old African woman has given birth to nine healthy babies in Morocco. This is a new world record.

The previous record was by a woman in the US who delivered eight babies at a single birth.

The nine babies were a surprise. The woman was told she was only carrying seven babies after having scans.

The five boys, four girls and the mother are all doing well. All are still in hospital and the babies are receiving postnatal care.
