What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence (or AI) is an area of computer science that
emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like
humans.
Some of the activities computers with artificial intelligence are
designed for include: Speech recognition, Learning, Planning and Problem
solving.
Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that creates
intelligent machines. It’s become an essential part of the technology
industry.
Research associated with artificial intelligence is highly technical and
specialized. Some of the main problems of artificial intelligence
include programming computers for certain factors such as knowledge,
reasoning, problem solving, perception, learning, planning and the
ability to manipulate and move objects.
Some people say that 2015 was a pivotal year for artificial intelligence,
with the number of software projects that use AI within Google increased
from "sporadic usage" in 2012 to more than 2,700 projects.
Knowledge engineering is a main part of AI research. Machines can often
act and react like humans only if they have a lot of information
relating to the world.
Teaching machines common sense, reasoning and problem-solving is a
challenging task.
Machine learning is also an integral part of AI. This means learning
without any kind of supervision and identifying patterns in data streams.
Mathematical analysis of machine learning algorithms and their
performance is a well-defined branch of theoretical computer science
often referred to as computational learning theory.
Sixty percent of all trades on Wall Street are made by AI with little or
no real-time oversight from humans.
For businesses, AI is just one of many tools able to enhance employees’
skills and expertise and assist them with the routine, repetitive, often
boring parts of their jobs.
