Do You Have a Bucket List?
I know what you’re thinking. What’s a bucket list, and why would I want
one? Well, a bucket
list is a list of things you want to do before you die. Maybe you think
it’s a bit morbid and
depressing to make a list like this, but actually it can be rather fun.
Bucket means cubo in Spanish and there’s an expression in English
‘to kick the bucket’ which
means to die.
Anything can be on a bucket list. You could include something as simple
as help another human
being, or as adventurous as climb Everest or drive a Ferrari. When you
write down a dream it
becomes a plan!
I was lucky enough to do one of the things on my bucket list last week.
I went to see the
Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis, in a small town in the north of
Norway called Tromso.
It took about 7 or 8 hours to get there because we had to take two
flights, but it wasn’t very
expensive. Both tickets cost about 100 euros.
The lights were amazing, although they weren’t as colourful as I thought
they’d be. Apparently,
photos of the lights often show more vivid colours than the naked eye
can see. Nevertheless, the
experience was unforgettable and I’ll always treasure the memory of that
cold night in Norway.
Now it’s time to look at the next thing on my bucket list. What things
would you put on your list?
