What Are Your favourite
Things?
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and
warm woolen mittens”
are some of Julie Andrews favourite things, as she sings in the film
Mary Poppins, but what are
some of your favourite things?
Sometimes, when I don’t feel so good, if I feel a bit down and in
a bad mood, I think of a few
things that make me happy and it cheers me up. It really
works, you should try it if don’t believe
me.
What do I think about? Well, good memories, for one. I think
about good times I’ve had in the
past. How lucky I’ve been to have known certain people and seen
particular places. I’ve had some
wonderful experiences in my life so far, and it makes me happy to
remember them.
Other things I like are dogs playing together, a colourful sunset,
the smell of grass that has just
been cut and fresh bread baking in the oven. I love chocolate
cake and chocolate biscuits and,
well, anything with chocolate in basically! Being with good friends and
laughing, listening to my
favourite music makes me smile and so does a cool breeze blowing
in from the sea.
In fact, there are so many beautiful things in the world that I’m
amazed when I feel sad, but I
do sometimes and thinking of these things never fails to cheer me
up.
